Stats & Scaling

Post by Oberon10490f1 » Sat May 20, 2017 11:58 pm

I was doing some testing and I was a little disappointed.

I thought it be fun to make an unarmed character - So I thought to myself if I had 50 might I would be throwing punch's like Mike Tyson!
Sadly from testing all that Might does is make your Hammer and Mace hit hard along with being a better mule..

I was wondering - Do you think you could adjust Might to scale Punch damage?
I also noticed that Super Strength does NOT increase punch's damage. Could this be fixed as well??

The only other modifier to punch is Brawling and it always seemed like a lackluster skill..
In the character creation screen it says "Brawling - advanced tricks in unarmed combat, building on the punch skill." ""Tricks"" Does this mean I can throw a a mean left cross? :D
Does brawling make punch do more damage??

Anyways- I just wanted to know if it was possible to tweak Might and Super Strength.
Hope it's not to much to ask

Thanks,
Adam

I have done more testing and found a few odd things.

Might effects Brawling improving and starting %
Agility effects Punch improving and starting %

It seems a little odd considering Might says it effects your bare hands. Would it be possible to link both Punch and Brawling to Might?

Thanks,

Punch damage does scale with might (all weaponcraft attacks do). It may be hard to see at lower levels but if you test a 1 might vs 70 might character the 70 might one will have a higher damage output with punch.

Yes, brawling adds damage to punch attacks. Think of punch as an equivalent of slash, where brawling would be equivalent to scimitar wielding for punch attacks.

So I think the lore/game reason behind doing it the way they did is that the player's agility determines how likely they are to be able to fight unarmed and land non-glancing blows, so while might is important for punching it isn't the singular factor determining success.

I think the solution to making punch attacks more interesting might be 'unarmed' combat weapons (like the fist weapons in Diablo 3).

Thanks for taking the time to check it out. Who know. Maybe you can add some new weapons :)
